Information about BPL's Interlibrary loan procedures is here http://www.brooklynpubliclibrary.org/borrowing_materials.jsp#Inter_loan(Brooklyn Public Library)

An interlibrary loan (ILL) is the process where you ask your local library (wherever you have a card) to request that they borrow an item from another library for you. Often there is a small fee. It can take 2-3 weeks for the item to be sent to your library. (MD AskUsNow!)

You can request a book through interlibrary loan by going to any of the Central Library’s subject divisions or your community library. Be sure to give the librarian as much information about the book as possible. The librarian will take your request and see if the book can be obtained from another library. The interlibrary loan service usually takes from four to six weeks. It is free to our customers. If you need additional help, you can call Telephone Reference at 718.990.0728. Thank you for using our Ask-a-Librarian service. (Queens Public Library)
